Nice to meet you!
Writing has been part of my life since I was old enough to hold a pencil and spell most words phonetically. My free time in elementary school was spent writing and illustrating gripping autobiographies on printer paper about my life as a kindergartener, and eventually I created original characters and stories for my family to enjoy.
Although I never did become a published author at 9 years old, writing and drawing at a young age helped form my strengths in school and the workplace. Communications is a great field for someone like me who approaches every writing project as a puzzle to put together: laying out all the pieces of a story and figuring out what fits to build a clear picture.
I got my start in copywriting as a college student working as a Resident Assistant and Programming Assistant where I planned, marketed, and hosted social events for students. Canva became my best friend and I increasingly got more adventurous with color schemes and unique designs for each program. Since graduating, I’ve worked in both the education and tech industries here in Washington state and expanded my writing abilities to social media posts, e-newsletters, organization-wide emails, website copy, and more. Adapting pieces for different audiences, mediums, and industries while making sure they’re pleasing to look at is what drives me to get creative and expand my toolbox of writing skills.
Outside of my work life, you can find me baking up a new recipe at home or exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with my husband, our dog George, and a vintage film camera in tow. I love to nerd out over theme parks, historic buildings, and espresso!
